My Style Monday

I've been wanting to link up to Mr and Mrs Smith's My Style Monday for awhile now, but I've been so busy.  However, with plenty of access to full length mirrors this week, I thought I'd play along :)

My Style Monday

AND, you get a sneak peek of the nursery!

Car shopping:

Pretty much what I live in these days - casual sundresses.  Thank goodness for working in an office that doesn't have a dress code!

I'll try to play again next Monday.  In the meantime...what do you think of what you can see in the background so far?  :)

New mom-mobile

I'm in my 36th week of pregnancy.

I have pretty much all loose ends tied up at work.

I have all of the furniture set up in Guinevere's room, except for the glider and ottoman, which are going to be delivered this week.

I'm down to weekly doctor appointments, and I have the car seat in the car (just need it professionally inspected).

The Pack N Play is assembled, the closets are stocked with clothes and diapers, and I'm furiously nesting, one room at a time.

So what else was there to possibly do?  Upgrade to a safe, new, mom-mobile of course!

We found out last week that my beloved Hyundai Tucson, which had almost 100K miles, needed quite a bit of work.  When we weighed the cost with the mileage, and the fact that the warranty was about to expire, and the fact that Tyler's 2Door hatchback also has 100K miles, we decided it was best to get a new car with a new warranty, much safer for baby.

We spent all weekend doing the dealership game (and there is NOTHING I hate more than new car shopping), and decided on....another Hyundai Tucson.  I loved mine, and you really can't beat that Hyundai warranty.  Not to mention that the interior is sooo nice - I preferred it infinitely more than the Honda CR-V, which was our second choice.

Tyler, right before we drove off:

He's super excited, if you can't tell :)

Tyler is ready for her to be here...I'm hoping to get a lot more done in the next 4 weeks, and I think her due date will be a perfect time to arrive.  But, if she does decide to show up early...I think we're almost ready for her.

Face Recognition

So now, when you upload pictures to Facebook, they use some sort of facial recognition software to guess who each person is, to make tagging easier.  Definitely saves a lot of time!

I just got the rest of our maternity pictures (and they are FABULOUS!), and uploaded a few onto Facebook, when it gave me the prompt to guess who all the people are.  It correctly guessed myself and Tyler for all of them, but one face confused the software:

That guy?  That guy is a Japanese samurai that is tattooed to Tyler's forearm.  And I get such a kick out of the fact that Facebook was able to pull out that teeny tiny face from such a large overall picture.  Awesome.

Life via Droid

Like I said, one of these days I'll make a real post.  In the meantime, things on my cell phone that have made me smile...

My first Mother's Day card from my own super sweet momma:

Tyler bought me a Caps maternity tee in honor of the Playoffs.  In a Maternity Size 16.  My husband looked at the list of all the maternity sizes, and thought that I must surely need the largest possible one.  He's in the same doghouse the Caps are in after their horrible wipeout from round two.  But artfully tucked, the shirt is pretty cute:

I had my baby shower last week, and took pictures of all the clothes from everyone so that I can remember who gave them to Guinevere when she wears them.  These precious ballet slipper style socks with satin bows on the toes came from my favorite freaky internet friends (FIF!) and are my favorite:

Gwen got her very first Easter basket from her super thoughtful Aunt Candra!

I got a Shellac manicure, and that shit lasted 16 days, until I got bored of a French Manicure and peeled it all off.  That thing is no joke - I will never waste my money on a regular manicure again.

I had our friends Christy and Gus over to dinner two weeks ago, and made homemade chicken egg rolls and beef stir fry.  To keep with the theme, I decided to make Vanilla Chai Tea cupcakes.  Turns out, Chai Tea is Indian, so giant "fail" on my part, but they tasted INSANELY AMAZING.  And I finally got to use the coffee cups from our wedding china set.

My goddaughters turned 3 and 1, and naturally, had a princess themed birthday party.  I volunteered to make the cake, and it turned out pretty awesome if I do say so myself:

We dogsat our friend's dog Bermuda while they were on their honeymoon.  She fits in so well when she stays at our family, and I got a kick out of hanging out with all four of my "girls".

The most amazing breakfast sandwich in the world, from a tiny pastry shop in Puerto Rico.  Its like a Bacon Egg and Cheese Sandwich thats deep fried in a pancake like pastry, and topped with powdered sugar.  Its out of this world.

Bride and Groom cupcakes for an office bridal shower:

My little Holly baby got a haircut:

She doesn't even look like the same dog!  This was her the day before:

Maternity Pictures Sneak Peek

Do I owe you about a thousand posts?  You  bet.  Until I can gather up the energy to finish the 7 half finished blog entries (not counting the ones I need to write, and haven't!) I'll leave you with a sneak peek of our maternity pictures from the absolutely amazing Christina and C+C Marriage Factory.
