OOTD: Camo and Tory

Last Friday, Tyler had a hair appointment.  The salon he goes to is in the nicest mall in our area, Tysons 2.  (For reference, where I live has probably a dozen malls within a one hour drive.  We like our malls).  He ended up being a little early for his appointment, and texted asking if I needed anything.

Knowing that there was a Tory Burch store in that mall, I responded that I needed a pair of Revas, size 7, black and gold.  His immediate reply?  "Yeah, right."  Which I fully expected.

That night, he got home, and I came downstairs, and there was a Tory Burch bag on the kitchen table.  That pattern is unmistakable, and I about died.  I've been dating Tyler since 2000 - that is a long ass time, and he's not one for surprises - although perhaps part of that is my fault, since I hate surprises.  But shoes?  Dang, I will always accept surprises in the form of shoes!

Marriage is an incredible thing, and I'm so blessed that this man keeps me guessing every day.  It was an indulgence I'm not sure I deserved, and I love that he thinks I did.

This outfit was worn to the mall with Guinevere on Saturday.  She's been so sick lately (they suspected a UTI so I had the pleasure of potty training my 1 year old to obtain a urine sample) but it turned out to be a raging ear infection.  Inside the tubes that she just had surgery for.  *facepalm*  So I had the pleasure of straddling my screaming child on a hospital bed while they did some crazy vacuum procedure to get the pus and funk out of her ear.  Shockingly, it didn't work, so we go back this week to do the same thing again.  Good times.

Since we've been so house bound and cabin fever crazy, she and I headed to the local mall for some girl time.  She rode the merry-go-round about 20 times, and we sat and ate Auntie Anne's pretzels and people watched, while she actually attracted people to watch us - singing and dancing in the aisle.  That kid is such a ham, and I freaking love it.

I actually hadn't thought this outfit to be particularly remarkable, but I was stopped three times to find out where I bought my jacket, so hey, why not share the wealth. I fell in love with camo jackets when Zara had their studded version out, but never pulled the trigger.  Now?  Obsessed.  I just ordered some studs on Amazon, so I'm hoping they get here soon so I can jazz this sucker up.

Every time I wear these shoes, I think of him.  And how much I love him.  And how amazing the leather smells.  And how weird I am for sleeping in them the night he gave them to me.  Issues...

  12. I have to tell you, ordinarily I detest camo...but seeing you in this outfit makes a believer out of me!! I'm still too scarred by the small town I grew up in (everyone wears hunting gear as if it is, indeed, actual clothing) to ever wear it myself...but I love how you've paired it with such feminine details! New follower!

  13. Very cute outfit! I am sorry your little one is having a rough time. Stay strong, mama! BTW- I never go to Tyson's b/c it is just so much going on at all times. That is a once a year trek for me although my sister works in walking distance. Fair Oaks is my favorite!

Isn't it so nice when husbands do that? ;) I love the shoes and really want to buy a pair, but I can't justify the spurlge right now. "That's a cool outfit."
    "I love those shoes."
    "Wow, she's pretty!"

I have to agree. And add what an AWESOME husband! Oh. and the fact that you have a dozen malls within an hour drive and we have to drive an hour to get to one at all! ha!
